Jenny Rocha is a choreographer, performer, teaching artist and costume designer based in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated with a BA in Dance from Roger Williams University in 1996 where she received The Outstanding Achievement in Dance Award. Currently, she is the artistic director of Rocha Dance Theater, the lead instructor for BAM's “Dancing Into the Future” program and a resident artist at Galapagos Art Space (Jenny Rocha & Her Painted Ladies). As a dancer, she has worked with noted companies such as Heidi Latsky Dance, Sean Curran Company and mentor, Kelli Wicke Davis. As a choreographer, Jenny has created a prolific amount of work for her own company as well as theater directors, clubs, off-broadway productions, music shows, commissioned events, variety shows, films and college companies. In addition to teaching at BAM, she has also been a guest artist at West Virginia University, ACDFA at Connecticut College and a revisiting artist at Roger Williams University (2001-2013). Jenny has also taught children in NY public schools for the organization CREATE and has been a guest artist at Dance New Amsterdam in NYC.
