Darlene Arrington is a Long Island Native with a passion for Hip Hop dance and learned early on that she was a performer. Arrington has studied ballet, tap, jazz, African and Hip Hop since the age of 10. With the tutelage of many mentors and diligent training from places such as The Hip Hop Dance Conservatory, Full Circle Productions, and Virginia Commonwealth University, she has been blessed to grace the stages of The New Victory Theater, Lincoln Center, The Grand Theater in Senegal West Africa, and LaGuardia Performing Arts Center. In 2014, she was selected to represent popping (a street style originating from the Bay Area in California ) in an international battle titled "Express Your Skills" in Canovanas, Puerto Rico. There, she was crowned a semi-finalist, placing 3rd in the world. In 2015, she became one out of ten choreographers to receive the opportunity to present work through Mare Nostrum's, Emerging Choreographer's Series. Darlene continues to perform and educate the masses as a Hip Hop dance instructor in institutions worldwide, including Hostos Community College, SUNY Farmingdale, Urban Arts Partnership and the Senegalese -American Bilingual School in Senegal, West Africa. In May of 2016, she graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, a tool in which she uses to fuse her love of hip hop dance and health together through her own company, Color Me Fly. Most recently, she performed alongside Bollywood sensation, Katrina Kaif at the 38th annual IIFA Awards, gracing over 30,000 people at MetLife stadium.
