Batsheva Dance Company: Gaga and Repertory
A member of Batsheva Dance Company leads an intensive master class in conjunction with Venezuela, the Israeli troupe’s evening-length work having its NY premiere this season. The class begins with an exploration of the fundamentals of Gaga, the movement language pioneered by choreographer Ohad Naharin, which heightens awareness of the body. Participants learn to connect conscious and unconscious movement, discovering their own strength, flexibility, stamina, and agility. The remainder of the class is then devoted to a selection from Batsheva’s repertory.
