JOYRIDE ON TOUR

MARK MORRIS’ JOYRIDE ON TOUR WITH SAN FRANCISCO BALLET
AND MORE COMPANIES PERFORMING MORRIS’ BALLET WORK THIS SEASON

San Francisco Ballet will tour Joyride, the company's seventh work by Mark Morris, as part of its 2008 American Tour. The new dance is set to Son of Chamber Symphony, a newly commissioned score by John Adams.
After premiering last spring, the piece makes its New York debut at City Center, New York City (October 11, 12 and 16). Tickets are available online; over the phone at 212.581.1212; and in person at the New York City Center Box Office, located on West 55th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues).
Future performances of Joyride are scheduled in Orange County Performing Arts Center, Costa Mesa (November 12, 14 and 15); and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington DC (November 25-26).
Mark Morris’s work continues to be featured in the season repertory of ballet companies across the country – Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Washington Ballet, and Ballet West in addition to SFB this season.
The Washington Ballet will present Drink to Me Only with Thine Eyes (November 23-26) in Washington, DC.
Pacific Northwest Ballet will premiere A Garden (November 6) in Morris’s hometown, Seattle, WA.
Ballet West will premiere Gong in Salt Lake City, UT (February 13).
San Francisco Ballet will also perform A Garden, Joyride and Sandpaper Ballet on an All-Morris program as part of their 2009 Repertory Season at home in the Bay Area, March 13-24, 2009.
