Layla and Majnun is an original dance and live music production based on an ancient Arabian love story well known in the Islamic world. A highly anticipated collaboration between the Mark Morris Dance Group and The Silk Road Ensemble, the work will explore the story’s themes of love, madness and mysticism through Mark Morris’ uniquely musical choreography and will feature popular Azerbaijani singers Alim and Fargana Qasimov performing on stage with musicians of The Silk Road Ensemble and the Mark Morris Dance Group.
