An excerpt from this ballet was given its first performance at the Dancing for Life Benefit at the New York State Theater, New York on October 10, 1987. The lighting design is now done by Michael Chybowski.

Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes is currently in the repertory of American Ballet Theatre andHouston Ballet, and was premiered by the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre on March 8, 2013. It has also been performed by San Francisco Ballet, The Royal New Zealand Ballet, English National Ballet and The Washington Ballet.

The mission of the Mark Morris Dance Group is to develop, promote, and sustain dance, music, and opera productions by Mark Morris and to serve as a cultural resource to engage and enrich the community.
