CUNY Cultural Corps. Intern
Royta Iftakher immigrated to the United States from Bangladesh when she was very little. She currently lives in Queens but assures you she’s a Brooklyn Girl through and through. Royta attended Brooklyn Technical High School where she was in the Industrial Design Major and participated in the Women’s Choir as well as various Spring Musicals. She is currently attending the Macaulay Honors College at CUNY Brooklyn College and pursuing a degree in Computer Science. Along with her background in STEM, Royta is highly passionate about the arts and their importance in developing the rich culture and community of New York City. Royta has actually worked with the Mark Morris Dance Group once before in high school, where she was a part of the ensemble that sang during the Dance of The Snowflakes in the Hard Nut. She’s thrilled to return as an Intern with the MMDG and hopes that her contributions will help inspire and manifest a greater appreciation for the creative sector of the city.
