
Jane Stine
Jane Stine is an editor and publisher at Parachute Publishing, a company started and run by Jane and her partner Joan Waricha. Parachute is best known for the popular book series, Goosebumps, written by R.L. Stine (Jane’s husband.) Jane graduated with honors from New York University. Her first job was her dream job— interviewing some of the most popular TV, movie, and music stars for Scope Magazine, published by Scholastic. For nine years, Jane was editor of Dynamite Magazine, the nation’s biggest-circulation children’s magazine of the 70’s and 80’s. After founding Parachute Press, the company created and produced a string of best-selling book series, including Fear Street and Goosebumps by R.L. Stine. In addition, Parachute produced several series for Mary- Kate and Ashley, the Olson Twins. Other Parachute book successes include Transformers, Marvel Superheroes, Thomas Kinkade novels, as well as books with Judy Blume and Beverly Clearly. The company has also produced several TV movies and series, including Mostly Ghostly movies and the Emmy- Award- winning series The Haunting Hour.
