Lily McAteer received their B.F.A. (magna cum laude) in dance performance from The Ailey School/Fordham University under the leadership of Melanie Person. Upon graduation, McAteer joined the faculties of The Ailey School’s Junior Division and the Mark Morris Dance Center. From 2014 to 2017, they served as Resident Choreographer and Programs Director for The Mirror Theater in Greensboro, Vermont, leading all arts-in-education and children’s programming. McAteer’s choreographic work includes productions of Carousel, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, The Sound of Music, Kiss Me Kate, Annie Get Your Gun, Hamlet, The Magic Flute, and The Sleeping Beauty (as director/choreographer). They also served as Dance Captain for the world premiere of Sinners, directed by Olivier Award winner Brian Cox. McAteer is also a Teaching Artist for Alvin Ailey Arts In Education & Community Programs and New York City Ballet. They love sharing the joy of movement and creativity with all dancers.
