Rachel Sigrid Freeburg

Rachel Sigrid Freeburg

Rachel Sigrid Freeburg is a dance artist and educator raised in Wisconsin and currently based in Brooklyn. While living in Minneapolis, she presented work though the 9×22 series, danced for the company, Arena Dances, and toured internationally for French choreographer, Johan Amselem. Currently collaborating with dance artist, s.lumbert, their work has recently been shown at Brooklyn Arts Exchange and in the Work Up 3.0 series at Gibney Dance Center. Her work as a mover and maker has been influenced through dancing in works by Angharad Davies, Pat Graney, Bebe Miller, and Susan Rethorst.  She has taught at the St. Paul Conservatory for the Performing Arts, The Ohio State University, Ohio University, and Gibney Dance Center. Rachel holds an MFA from The Ohio State University and a BFA from the University of Minnesota
