Sarabeth Berman
Sarabeth Berman is currently the first CEO of American Journalism Project, a venture philanthropy organization with a mission to grow sustainable nonprofit, nonpartisan local newsrooms. Prior to her role at AJP, Berman was Vice President of Public Affairs for Teach for All, a network of over 35 organizations working to expand educational equity. In this role, Sarabeth oversaw marketing, communications and research and evaluation for the global organization. Previously, Sarabeth lived and worked in China for seven years. Based in Beijing, she led the recruiting, marketing and communications teams at Teach For China. Sarabeth was the also the former company manager of BeijingDance/LDTX, a contemporary dance company led by Artistic Director, Willy Tsao. She was formerly the Special Programs Director at Seeds of Peace, a conflict-resolution camp for Middle-Eastern Youth. She was a 2006 Henry Luce Scholar, based in Hong Kong, where she worked at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts and produced and directed “The Migrant Collective” at the Hong Kong Fringe Club. She received her B.A. in Urban Studies from Barnard College. Sarabeth and her husband, Evan Osnos, live in Washington D.C.
