The School at the Mark Morris Dance Center

The School at the Mark Morris Dance Center offers year-round, community-based dance and music programming in the heart of the Brooklyn Cultural District.

Students learn in a welcoming and supportive environment where high-level dance training is paired with creativity, inclusion, and community. Our classes feature live music and our culturally responsive teaching approach meets students where they are, honoring and supporting their unique experiences and perspectives. We are committed to inclusive programming for students with and without disabilities, with individualized pacing that allows us to better meet the unique needs of every student in the room.

Come Dance with Us! Join our vibrant dance community to learn, create, and express yourself through dance. Throughout the year, students will:

  • Develop technical skills through engaging and supportive instruction
  • Explore the history, culture and foundations of their dance form
  • Build meaningful connections and a strong sense of belonging while in their class
  • Grow confidence through creative exploration and artistic expression
  • Celebrate their progress by sharing what they have learned in our informal Family and Friends Days

Whether you are new to dance or continuing your journey, we look forward to learning and dancing together!  In the meantime, you can learn more about:
