Samantha McLoughlin is originally from Edmonton, Canada. She was born dancing. She took her first dance class at age three. It was a creative movement/ballet class for toddlers. Now that she is a dance teacher, creative movement for toddlers is one of her favorite classes to teach. She also teaches ballet, jazz, improv, and many other styles of dance. She trained at Decidedly Jazz Dance Works, completing the professional dance program. She danced professionally for Ballet Creole Dance Company in Toronto. She came to New York in 2011 to train at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Upon her graduation, she danced for companies like ARIM Dance, Mare Nostrum, and Shadow Box Theatre. She also teaches early childhood developmental music and movement classes for Blooming BéBé. She is a former teacher for Dance Theatre of Harlem. She is grateful to be a part of the Mark Morris dance community.
