Olivia Parente*
Olivia Parente is a Brooklyn-based dancer and movement teacher. She grew up dancing in her hometown of Torrington, Connecticut, and went on to graduate high school from the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts in 2014. Olivia received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in May of 2018. There she performed in works by Jesse Zaritt, Sidra Bell, Nora Gibson, Gary Jeter, and Helen Simoneau. Olivia spent her spring semester of 2017 studying dance at the Accademia Dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy, and spent her winter break of 2018 dancing in France and Belgium under the direction of University of the Arts faculty members Katie Swords and Douglas Becker. In June 2017, Olivia received her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training certification from Kripalu School of Yoga in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Since moving to Brooklyn in 2018, she has taught both dance and yoga to children ages 2-12 for companies such as NIA Community Services Network and Kinderdance Brooklyn. Olivia now works as a yoga and dance teacher throughout Brooklyn and Queens and dances with Dance Visions NY.
