Berkeley RADICAL is a Cal Performances programming initiative that cultivates future paths and audiences for the performing arts. Mark Morris and The Silk Road Ensemble's Layla and Majnun is part of the thematic strand INCLUSION. Addressing among the most immediate issues in our society today, INCLUSION embraces the idea that in an idealized world of the arts, no person, no group, no artform, is excluded. In our concert halls and theaters we are all equal, sharing a performance is among the most democratizing acts in our society.

Layla and Majnun marks one of four programs, from across oceans and genres, that tell stories about diverse worlds through the lenses of distinct artistic disciplines.
