Melanie Holm*
Melanie Holm is a soprano and dancer reframing standard opera repertory through a female-driven lens and collaborating with living composers to challenge systemic norms within classical music. Recently, Melanie worked with multimedia artist ONOH as 2021 SEED Residency Artists with [nueBOX], arranging the finale to Mozart’s Don Giovanni for soprano, dance, visuals, and electronics. Additional 2021-2022 projects include choreographing and performing Jake Heggie’s Eve Song with pianist Karey Miles, performing with the Arizona Women’s Collaborative, and joining the 2022 Teaching Artist Training Program cohort with the Mark Morris Dance Group. Melanie is an alum of the Opera in the Ozarks Emerging Artist Program, AIMS in Graz, and is a former Education Artist with Arizona Opera. She holds degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (B.M. in voice with a dance minor) and Arizona State University (D.M.A. in voice and M.M. in opera performance). A recent transplant to Brooklyn, Melanie is thrilled to be a part of the Mark Morris community!
