Michelle Amador is a lifelong singer, songwriter and recording artist who joined MMDG in 2012 after twelve years of experience in substantially increasing contributed income for innovative arts organizations (Issue Project Room, ETHEL, San Jose Jazz, SFJAZZ). Under her leadership, MMDG’s contributed income increased from $1.4 million in Fiscal Year 2012 to now $4 million annually. Michelle also led the organization’s largest comprehensive campaign, Above & Beyond (2016-2020), working with board members to raise $23 million in support of capital projects, capacity-building and program expansions, and legacy. Michelle currently leads the team for MMDG’s BOLD campaign which aims to advance the organization’s impact significantly by increasing annual contributed revenue to $5 million per year ($10 million across 2 years). Michelle is a current Board Member of the Community Foundation of Nevada County, Harvestworks, and Nevada County Arts Council. She is also part of the organizing group of the Cultural Solidarity Fund, the Nevada County Equity & Inclusion Leadership Alliance organized by Color Me Human, Women of Color in the Arts (WOCA), and the 2022 Western States Center Cohort for Musician’s Inclusive Practice. She is married to drummer and visual artist Tim Bulkley and has a son named Harrison. Michelle has a BA in Political Science and a Minor in Theater from the University of Southern California, and a Music Industry Essentials Certificate from The Clive Davis Institute of Recording Arts, NYU Tisch University School for the Arts.
