Timothy J. McClimon

Tim McClimon is President of the American Express Foundation and Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility, American Express Company. In this role, he directs all of the American Express Company’s global corporate social responsibility, philanthropy and employee engagement programs. Tim is also an adjunct professor at New York University where he teaches graduate level courses in nonprofit management and arts administration. Immediately prior to joining American Express, Tim was Executive Director of Second Stage Theatre in New York City. Previously, Tim was the Executive Director of the AT&T Foundation where he directed AT&T’s global philanthropy and community involvement programs. A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, Tim was an associate at the law firm of Webster & Sheffield where he specialized in not-for- profit corporate law before joining AT&T. Prior to that, he managed the Inter-Arts Program of the National Endowment for the Arts. Formerly a David Rockefeller Fellow with the New York City Partnership, Tim also serves on the boards of Americans for the Arts, Independent Sector, Mark Morris Dance Group, and Second Stage Theatre, and is immediate past chairman of the Corporate Advisory Council of the American Red Cross.
