This summer, we’re launching our milestone 45th anniversary season and we’re presenting a stunning program that showcases the breadth and versatility of Mark Morris’s choreography. With live music and Morris’s signature blend of wit, musicality, and emotional depth, this much-anticipated engagement features two programs that celebrate both new works and beloved repertory.

In Program A, experience the world premiere of a dynamic new work set to the music of James P. Johnson, as well as the lyrical and spirited The Muir (2010), the evocative Mosaic and United (1993), and the playfully intricate Silhouettes (1999). Program B showcases the worldwide debut of a captivating new dance set to the music of John Luther Adams, alongside the hauntingly beautiful Whelm (2015), the emotionally charged The Argument (1999), and the high-energy, country-western-inspired Going Away Party (1990).

The Look of Love (photo by Julieta Cervantes)

Join us at Global Arts Live in Boston  on January 23-26 for The Look of Love and get ready for an evening filled with elegance, playfulness, and nostalgia in a nightclub-like atmosphere, all set to the timeless hits of Burt Bacharach. This celebration of dance and music is a visual love letter to Bacharach’s timeless melodies, capturing the raw emotion, humor, and spontaneity of falling in—and out of—love.

After Boston, we’ll head to Illinois, stopping at the Cultural and Civic Center in Marion on February 18 and the Krannert Center in Urbana February 21-22. At both venues we’ll be performing robust rep programs that include beloved works from the past like Going Away Party and Castor and Pollux, along with newer dances like Via Dolorosa, which premiered in 2024 at Cal Performances in Berkeley, CA.
