At the Dance Center:
Children and Teens Camps
Every year, The School at the Mark Morris Dance Center offers children and their parents to opportunity to continue dance classes through school breaks. The School’s fun, dynamic camps combine daily technique classes like ballet, modern, hip-hop, tap, and jazz with explorations in visual art, theater, music, and stagecraft—all inspired by the world-renowned works of Mark Morris.
Students move to the rhythm of live music, guided by expert instructors, while building friendships with peers who share their passion for dance and performance. Whether they’re experienced dancers or just starting out, The School’s camps are designed to spark joy and imagination at every step.

Behind the Scenes with the Mark Morris Dance Group.
On February 13, we hosted our Winter Virtual Rehearsal and live Q&A with the Mark Morris Dance Group. The company rehearsed sections of Pacific, a work first choreographed by Mark Morris for San Francisco Ballet in 1995 and later added into Mark Morris Dance Group’s performance repertory in 2015. Following the rehearsal and coaching session the company answered viewers’ questions. Guests enjoyed an insightful glimpse into the process of remounting this wonderful repertory in preparation for the company’s tour to Sarasota, FL, Feb. 28-March 3.
