Nicole Philippidis
Nicole Philippidis, a native New Yorker, is an acclaimed choreographer and multi-award-winning director and filmmaker who continues to shape the landscape of dance and film. Holding a B.F.A. degree in dance from Marymount Manhattan College, where she was awarded a four-year dance scholarship, and an M.S. in education from City College of New York with a Teaching Fellowship in the Arts, Nicole seamlessly blends her artistic prowess with a commitment to education. Trained extensively under Alan Danielson of the José Limón School, she worked as a dancer for independent choreographers before founding 277 Dance Project in 2009 and 277 Films in 2019. Her innovative and impactful choreography has been presented at various venues and festivals. Nicole has earned multiple awards for her films, including her most recent work, Thoughts as Storms, showcasing her versatility in both dance and film. Notably, she serves on the dance advisory board at Marymount Manhattan College, further contributing to the next generation of artists.
