4:00pm - 11:00am
Mark Morris Dance Center
3 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn, New York — United States
Dance for PD ®, our program offering dance classes for people with Parkinson's disease, is looking for dancers aged 10-13 who are currently enrolled in a ballet or modern class at The School at the Mark Morris Dance Center for our intergenerational L'Allegro Movement Project.
Qualifying young dancers will have the opportunity to work with dancers and teachers from Mark Morris Dance Group's renowned Dance for PD® program. Using thematic and structural elements from L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato as the basis for movement creation, participants will explore the choreographic, poetic, and musical elements of Mark Morris' signature work. Through this collaborative initiative, young students and participants with Parkinson's disease will be empowered to explore and celebrate the expressive possibilities of movement through dance and music.
