We believe in the power of dance and the performing arts to unite and uplift without barriers.
Building on our core values of Community, Access, Excellence, and Creativity, we continue to take actions that advance anti-racism, accessibility, equity, and inclusion across our organization. We do this as part of confronting our status and history as a majority white-led institution, and to address our role in the systemic racism, prejudices and biases that have long prevailed in the dance community.
We recognize this work as ongoing, requiring sustained investment, an openness to new ideas, and the flexibility to evolve in relation to our staff and community.
Guided by our core values, we are committed to creating an equitable and accessible environment that reflects and respects all members of our community. By participating in activities and programming at the Mark Morris Dance Center and online, you also agree to uphold these values.
As an organization, our decisions about programming and space use are guided by artistry, inclusivity, and respect. We believe the arts are especially vital for affirming our shared humanity. We do not discriminate against artists on the basis of identity, nationality, or the actions of their governments. These values are central to our mission and continue to guide all of our programming decisions.

As we commit to educating ourselves and taking action, we equally commit to an open dialogue with our community. If you have ideas on how we can improve or more resources we can add, please let us know.
