Sharayah Spruill
Sharayah Spruill has been dancing since the age of two and has studied a myriad of dance styles throughout her career, such as ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, African, contemporary, modern dance, and musical theater. Sharayah has performed in musicals for the Long Island Theatre Company and Broadhollow Theatre located in East Islip such as Saturday Night Fever, Mamma Mia, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and A Christmas Story. Sharayah has also performed musical theater with rapper Jean Grae at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater, where she danced and sang backup to Jean. Sharayah is a B.A. graduate of LIU Post and is currently a member of two dance companies, ModArts Dance Collective and Gotham Dance Theater, one based in Manhattan and the other in Queens. Sharayah has been an assistant teaching artist with the Mark Morris Dance Center for three years and has assisted with many children and adult dance styles throughout her time there. She hopes to continue to learn from the best and develop her teaching skills to have her own classes one day in addition to her continuous performance.
