Sukyung Kim
Sukyung Kim is a Korean-born, New York City-based pianist, composer, and improviser. She began studying classical music and improvisation at age five. Later, she discovered Wynton Kelly, Keith Jarrett, and Brad Mehldau, leading her to further study jazz and improvised music. She moved to New York City to continue her studies at New York University and studied privately under jazz pianists Alan Broadbent and Kevin Hays. She released her debut album Lilac Hill in May 2020. She currently lives in Brooklyn, where she continues to write, perform, and teach.
