Chelsea Thedinga
Chelsea Thedinga trained in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts and Inspire Dance Company under artistic direction of Robert Contreras. Some of her credits include the MTV Video Music Awards, La La Land, In the Heights, GLEE, the Academy Awards, Ellen, the Emmy Awards, and Up Here. She has completed six national tours with Travis Wall’s Shaping Sound and performed with Stacey Tookey’s company Still Motion and Peter Chu’s company Chuthis. Chelsea was a principal dancer in Sonya Tayeh’s original works You’ll Still Call Me by Name and Foresight Hindsight that presented at New York Live Arts, Jacob’s Pillow, and the Cape Dance Festival. As a choreographer and educator, Chelsea combines her contemporary commercial and concert performance experience in an explorative style that translates in both spaces. Her classroom intention is to create a safe community for dancers to explore movement rooted in texture and feeling.
