Junior Company
The Junior Company provides a community-centered training and performance opportunity for young dancers ages 7 – 9. Our students spend the year studying dance technique and working with Teaching Artists, who set their own choreography on the dancers for a year-end culminating performance.
- Junior Company dancers should have at least 1 year of prior dance experience but do not need to be returning students at The School at the Mark Morris Dance Center.
- Weekly classes and rehearsals are designed for our dancers to collaborate in a creative and fun learning environment.
MOCK-AUDITION FORMAT:
Junior Company mock-auditions will take place each fall. Students interested in registering for the audition may do so via the link here.
The Mark Morris Dance Center is committed to creating a joyful and safe environment for all auditionees. The Junior Company mock-audition will be structured like a Modern Fundamentals class in The School; young dancers should expect a warm-up, exercises in the center and improvisation.
Please note that a Student Company I Member will support dancers throughout the audition. Dancers should wear tights or leggings and a leotard or fitted top that covers their torso and be barefoot.
