Mozart Dances

Music - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Ten years ago, on the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth, Lincoln Center commissioned Mark Morris’s Mozart Dances to premiere at the Mostly Mozart Festival. Hailed as a masterpiece and “one of Mr. Morris’s grandest achievements” (New York Times), Mozart Dances offers a visually stimulating, elegant, and often tender display of movement and technique. In the not-to-be-missed revival of this transcendent trilogy, pianists Garrick Ohlsson and Inon Barnatan, with the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, accompany the lyricism and astounding precision of the Mark Morris Dance Group.

Mozart Dances consists of three sections, each danced to a different Mozart piece.

Eleven – Piano Concerto No. 11 in F major, K. 413
Double – Sonata in D major for Two Pianos, K. 448
Twenty-Seven – Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major, K. 595
