9:00am - 3:00pm
Mark Morris Dance Center
3 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn, New York — United States
Join us for the launch of the 2019-20 school year at the Mark Morris Dance Center, where families have the opportunity to explore, connect, dance, and learn. The School Open House provides a free sampling of a wide array of programming, including dance and music classes for children, teens, and families.
Families can:
- Learn Broadway Jazz in our Family Fun Class
- Learn choreography from The Hard Nut and Orfeo ed Euridice with Mark Morris Dance Group company members
- See performances by Mark Morris Dance Group company members, teens from Student Company II and Arts Immersion, and Dance Center faculty The Lovelies
- Shop at the Pop-Up Store by Capezio featuring specials on dancewear and shoes
In addition to free classes and performances, Open House gives our community a chance to meet and mingle with faculty and staff, register for children and teen classes, tour the Dance Center, and enjoy refreshments.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and use the Dance Center’s water fountains. To promote environmental sustainability, disposable plastic bottles of water will not be provided but will be available for purchase.
FREE ALL DAY
Note: Adult classes will be held as scheduled on this day and are not part of the Open House.
