Grace Cotter

Grace Cotter grew up in New York, where she trained with companies including Boston Conservatory, Joffrey Ballet School, American Academy of Ballet, and SUNY Purchase. After college graduation, she spent several years in Nashville, where she taught at the Nashville Ballet. She is passionate about bringing dance to people of all backgrounds and teaches at museums, homeless shelters, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and community centers for people with disabilities. She is the assistant to Arthur Fredric and Lisa Denton in their production of the Nutcracker Ballet. Grace has furthered her professional education by completing National Dance Education Organization’s (NDEO) Teaching Dance to Students with Disabilities program, the University of Roehampton’s Dance Movement Psychotherapy course, and Danscend’s Mental Wellness Dance Educator program. Her personal teaching philosophy resides in positivity and inclusion, and she enjoys sharing her love of dance with her students. Grace is excited to be a part of the wonderful programs at the Mark Morris Dance Center!
