James Seely began his career as a founding employee of Carta, the leading financial technology platform for private companies and venture capital firms to issue, manage, and track their equity. Over the course of his seven years there, James scaled and led a number of strategic business units, from client onboarding and customer success to marketing and product strategy. In his current role as the Head of Go-to-Market for Syndicate, a blockchain infrastructure technology, he oversees and manages all sales, marketing, and customer operations across the organization.
Originally from Seattle, James was first introduced to the work of Mark Morris in 2005 during a performance at the Meany Center for the Performing Arts. After moving to Brooklyn in 2018, he attended a performance of “Grand Duo” at the Mark Morris Dance Center and has continued to be a fan and supporter of the Mark Morris Dance Group in the years since. James lives with his wife, Colleen, and their miniature dachshund, Wallace, in Brooklyn Heights.
