Francesca Dominguez

Francesca Dominguez, a performing artist, educator, and certified Countertechnique teacher in the United States, holds an M.F.A. in dance from Hunter College. Awarded the Shuster Award for Outstanding Master’s Thesis in 2022, she currently teaches Countertechnique at The Juilliard School, Barnard/Columbia dance, and the Gibney PRO Program. Francesca also serves as a teaching artist at the Mark Morris Dance Center and Peridance Center. Trained by faculty at Hunter College, CSU Long Beach, and the Lines Ballet Training Program, Francesca’s in-depth study of Countertechnique under founder Anouk van Dijk has enriched her artistic journey. She has professionally danced with companies such as Soluq Dance Theater, Manuel Vignoulle, and Keith Johnson/Dancers, and is presently a performer with SAXYN Dance Works in New York City. Venturing into choreography in 2020, Francesca’s work in the sold-out show Galvanizing Steel at Gibney Dance Theater NYC earned acclaim. Selected for the Doug Varone Devices Performance in 2022, she further garnered recognition with a grant and performance residency from Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (JCAL) in September 2023. Francesca is honored to choreograph as faculty for the Barnard Dance Department, with the performance scheduled for April 2024.
