GREG GONZALEZ grew up in Venice, CA, and had the privilege of studying with known guru Freddie Gruber. He attended Dick Grove School of Music and UCLA School of Music where he studied with drumming legends David Garibaldi, Louis Conte, and Mitchell Peters. His resume includes performance and recording credits with top artists in virtually every genre of music including: Beyonce, Patti LaBelle, Cecil Taylor, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Red Baraat, Falu, Jazz Mandolin Project, Danielia Cotton, Chop and Quench, Antibalas, Bernie Worell, Don Braden, and many more. Greg is the drummer and music director for the Tony Award winning Broadway show FELA! He moved to New York City in the early 90’s and has since become one of the most versatile and sought after drummers today.
