Jennifer France
Jennifer France (soprano) just graduated from the Opera Course at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM) where she won many prizes including the prestigious Patron’s Award that resulted in her solo recital debut at the Wigmore Hall, and was awarded the Principal’s Prize at graduation for exceptional all-around studentship. At RAM, Jennifer was a member of the Song Circle and was a soloist for the Academy/Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata series. France is also a Samling Scholar and before joining RAM studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with Sandra Dugdale. Roles include Blonde-Cover (Die Entführung, Garsington Opera), Rose Maybud-Cover (Ruddigore, Opera North), Le Feu and Le Rossignol (L’enfantet les Sortileges, BBC Symphony Orchetsra at the Barbican), Esmerelda (The Bartered Bride, British Youth Opera), Lisetta (La Vera Costanza), Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos), Madame Herz (Der Schauspieldirektor), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Héro (Béatrice et Bénédict) all for Royal Academy Opera. She is currently studying with Lillian Watson. Forthcoming and current engagements include roles as First Niece (Peter Grimes) and Tytania – Cover (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) both for Opera North, and Marzelline (Fidelio) for Garsington Opera 2014, as well as a Hyperion recording of Debussy songs with Malcolm Martineau.
