Julie Stevens
Julie Lauren Stevens (soprano) is quickly distinguishing herself as a powerhouse performing artist in New York and around the world. Constantly praised for her performances of Gilbert & Sullivan’s works, Stevens’s professional New York Debut as Yum-Yum (Mikado) received standing ovations and gained critical praise. In addition to her success as a performer of operetta, Stevens specializes in repertoire of the rare Deutsche Soubrette. Her large instrument, combined with its bright, sweet timbre, make Stevens ideal for roles such as Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel); as well as the role of Marzelline (Fidelio), which she recently performed with Amici Opera. As a passionate supporter of community outreach, Stevens regularly performs in nursing homes and assisted living centers. She has also recently performed at Hope Lodge, the American Cancer Society's no-cost lodging facility for cancer patients. A trained Music Together teacher and Music In Education specialist, Stevens’s love of teaching allows for captivating and enlightening performances for all audiences.
