Registration & Tuition

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT INFORMATION

Advance registration for all classes is required. Please visit The School’s webpages to view and select which classes your child will be taking. Payment is due at the time of registration and reserves a child’s place in class. Registrations are processed in the order they are received. You will receive confirmation and class calendars via email. Class sizes are limited. If you have any questions, please email schooladmin@mmdg.org. 

The School at the Mark Morris Dance Center is committed to upholding its core values of Community, Access, Artistic Excellence, and Creativity. To ensure access to excellent dance education for the entire community, tiered pricing options, in collaboration with our scholarship program, allow us to take collective action to reduce financial barriers that have traditionally prevented some students and families from participating. As a non-profit organization, Mark Morris Dance Group subsidizes costs that are not met by Tier 1 and 2 tuition options. Families who can should select the tuition option Tier 3 so that we can continue to offer our programs with additional support staff, live music, and in our state-of-the-art facilities. Tiered tuition is run on an honor system; we do not examine financial records of any family. The information below is provided as a guide to help determine which pricing tier may fit your family best. We recognize there may be situations under which this guide is not applicable.

EARLY CHILDHOOD REGISTRATION DATES

  • Fall Programs:
    •  Registration for Fall Session 1 opens: August 6
    •  Registration for Fall Session 1 closes: September 22
    •  Registration for Fall Session 2 opens: October 22
    •  Registration for Fall Session 2 closes: November 26
  • Spring Programs:
    •  Registration for Winter Session opens: January 7
    •  Registration for Winter Session closes: February 11
    •  Registration for Spring Session opens: March 18
    •  Registration for Spring Session closes: April 22

 

CHILDREN AND TEEN REGISTRATION DATES

  • Fall 2024:
    • Fall Semester General Registration Opens: August 6
    • Final Day to drop a Fall Class: September 28
    • Final Day to switch into a new Fall class: October 19
  • Spring 2025:
    • Spring Semester General Registration: January 14
    • Final Day to drop a Spring Class: February 22
    • Final Day to Switch into a new Spring class: March

Registration Notes

    • Adjusted Schedules: Due to observed holidays and scheduled breaks aligned with the Department of Education Academic Year Calendar, students may participate in one fewer class over the course of the respective semester or session than their peers registered on a different day of the week.

Early Childhood

  • Please review our Early Childhood Important Dates Calendar to see specific program dates and timelines.
  • All students will need to re-register for each session. There are no options for priority registration. Multi-class and sibling discounts are not available in Early Childhood programs.
    Fee: There is a $15 registration fee per session per student.

Children and Teens

  • Classes are leveled with the expectation that students are participating in the entire academic year of programming (September-June).
  • Students may select registration for the entire academic year or for one semester at a time over the course of 32 total weeks. Students registered in the previous semester are eligible for priority registration.
  • All students registering for Children and Teens Program classes have the opportunity to enroll in a 2-installment payment plan upon check-out. These payments are processed automatically via a credit card payment on the Active Network registration software, and require a 50% deposit to process. Additional payment plans can be created on an individual basis in collaboration with the Education Team. Please email schooladmin@mmdg.org with any questions or concerns.

Fee: There is a $30 registration fee per academic year per student. Multiple Class Discount: Students in the Children and Teens Program registered for more than one class in a semester will receive a 15% discount. This discount does not apply to the Early Childhood Programs.

Registration Discounts

    • Multiple Class Discount: Students in the Children and Teens Program registered for more than one class in a semester will receive a 10% discount. This discount does not apply to the Early Childhood Programs.
    • Sibling Discount: Siblings receive a 10% discount. This discount does not apply to siblings enrolled in the Early Childhood Programs.

Payment Plans:

    • Early Childhood Programs: Upon check-out, families have the option to enroll in a 2-installment automatic payment plan via Active Network. Payments are processed online via a credit or debit card. 
    • Children and Teens Programs: Upon check-out, families have the option to enroll in a 2 or 4-installment automatic payment plan via Active Network. Payments are processed online via a credit or debit card. 

Scholarships:

During 2024-2025, need-based scholarships will be provided to a limited number of qualifying students and will be awarded via a first-come, first serve basis. Applicants will be notified of results on a rolling basis until all scholarships are distributed. Applications are available on our website here.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy: 

  • Early Childhood Program: 
    • Tuition is refundable within the registration period of each respective program, less a $15 processing fee, the pro-rated cost of classes taken (whether attended or not), and any applied discounts.
    •  Please note: Schedule and/or teachers are subject to change. To withdraw, you must contact schooladmin@mmdg.org
  • Children and Teens Program:  
    • Tuition is refundable within the class drop period of each semester, less a $15 processing fee, the pro-rated cost of classes taken (whether attended or not), and any applied discounts.  
    • Tuition can be transferred to a different class during the current semester only within the class switch period.
    • Please note: Schedule and/or teachers are subject to change. To withdraw, you must contact schooladmin@mmdg.org
