Our classes follow the traditional New York On 2 style. Class starts with a warm-up that covers building blocks for the technical exercises and choreography practiced later in class. These include body isolations, stretching, and styling movements. All classes focus on footwork and musicality. Skills for partnering will be developed, but no partner is necessary for class.

For absolute beginners with little to no experience, this class is the perfect introduction to the basics of salsa dancing in the NY on 2 style. The first 3 weeks will focus on shines (dancing alone) and preparation for the last 3 weeks where we will learn to dance socially with a partner. A great place for beginners to gain an understanding of footwork and basic partner work (both leading and following) in a fun, friendly, safe, and exciting environment. No partner needed.

Join us Wednesday October 30th for a Latinx and Hispanic Heritage Month celebration from 8:15-9:30pm! Come for a quick lesson and social dancing mingle with other members of the Intro Series community. There will be refreshments and light snacks! You can purchase your ticket as a package with your Intro session at check out! You will have the option to just purchase the intro series or purchase the series “+ Intro Mingle”

This class covers the basics of salsa dancing in the traditional New York On 2 style. Classes will include stretching, body isolation, and styling techniques and will focus on footwork and basic partner work skills. A great opportunity to learn and refine your social dance skills in a fun, friendly, and exciting environment.

Suggested Attire:

  • Comfortable clothing in which you can easily move.
  • Character shoes, ballroom dance shoes, jazz shoes or thin socks. No street shoes, heels, pumps.

Intermediate/Advanced Salsa

Dancers will focus on sophisticated footwork, spinning techniques, and partner work.  Additionally, class will explore salsa choreography, timing and musicality through the Cha Cha rhythm, and performance skills. Be ready to learn fun routines that you can take on the dance floor.  Experience necessary. No partner required.
