Early childhood is a time to introduce young dancers to dance and music through play-based activities. Our 45 minute long classes are designed to give caregivers and our youngest dancers an opportunity to cultivate a love of dance and music and develop motor skills through play-based activities. 

Options include:

• We Dance: up to 4 years (for babies, toddlers and grown ups)
• Creative Dance: Ages 4 – 6 (first drop-off option)
• Creative Explorations: Ages 5-6

We Dance – for babies, toddlers, and their caregivers

Explore movement together through dance, music, and play!

• Led by early childhood educators and accompanied by live music, classes include singing, games, and movement activities that support motor-skill, language, and social development. 
• We Dance encourages caregiver participation to strengthen bonding while modeling movement and creative play. Classes also introduce healthy movement habits for both children and adults in a joyful, welcoming community environment.
• For our youngest dancers – newborns through newly walking children – activities support their developing coordination while helping caregivers move comfortably and safely through daily routines and self-care through dancing in community with others.

Above all, WeDance is a fun opportunity for families to dance, connect, and build community together.

Creative Dance – Ages 4-6

Creative Dance classes (our first drop-off option) introduce children ages 4–6 to the joy of dance and music through movement, creativity, and play. Students explore basic dance technique, musicality, and improvisation while building motor skills, confidence, and social connections, all with live musical accompaniment.

• At age 5, dancers may also choose to explore a specific genre of dance – Ballet, Modern, Hip-Hop, Broadway Jazz, or Tap – through our Creative Explorations classes.

Both programs help prepare students for genre-specific classes in our Children and Teen Program, beginning at age 6.

Dress Code: Comfortable clothing, socks or barefoot

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellation requests must be shared in writing by emailing the School Team at schooladmin@mmdg.org. Families are eligible for a pro-rated refund of their class tuition, less the cost of our $15 cancellation fee and any classes that have been held, up until 6:00 pm on Sunday July 19.
