**Bound, broken and remade in shimmering new ways, the circle formed by the Mark Morris Dance Group in the middle section of _Mozart Dances_, a Cal Performances presentation at Zellerbach Hall in September, was the most sacred space of the year. Morris, in another peak achievement of his remarkable career, transformed a simple form of dancers onstage into something wondrous, inspiriting and achingly beautiful. That was the centerpiece of a magnificent night of dance, set to three Mozart pieces and performed with flowing precision and heart by the company and the musicians.** from 'The Top 10 arts and culture events of 2007', _San Francisco Chronicle_

_Mozart Dances_ premiered to sold out audiences in August, 2006, at the Mostly Mozart Festival with pianists Emanuel Ax and Yoko Nozaki, along with the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra under the baton of Louis Langrée. In December, 2006, the piece had its European premiere at the New Crowned Hope Festival in Vienna. In 2007, the Dance Group brought _Mozart Dances_ to the rest of the world with a tour that included London, Chicago, Los Angeles, Berkeley and a return engagement at Lincoln Center in New York City. The second Lincoln Center performance was broadcast on PBS' _Live From Lincoln Center_, which was viewed by 1.2 million viewers nationwide.
