Intro to Son Jarocho / Afro-Mexican

This series of classes is designed for students who are beginners with relatively little experience with Son Jarocho / Afro-Mexican dance, which has roots in Indigenous, African, and Spanish dances. This 6-session workshop focuses on the rhythms and footwork of Son Jarocho in a non-competitive and fun environment with live musical accompaniment.

Suggested Attire:

  • Comfortable clothing in which you can easily move
  • Short-heel character shoes or boots with a heel that can make noise. If not, sneakers are also acceptable.
