There is an emphasis on range of motion, as well as intensive work on abdominal muscles.  This beginning Pilates class provides an encouraging, informative environment for beginning students to work on the foundational exercises of the technique.

Intermediate Pilates

Beginner Yoga

Yoga is accessible to anyone. Beginners to Advanced yogis can benefit from this class with Teaching Artist Iris Cohen. Iris ensures you practice correct body alignment in a safe and supportive environment.  Don’t worry about class moving too fast, knowing Sanskrit, or lacking flexibility. Welcome yourself to an experience that will de-stress your body and your mind.

Mats and props are included, or feel free to bring your own.

Gyrokinesis

GYROKINESIS® is a fluid non-weight-bearing yoga for the spine and focuses on opening up the joints and muscles from the inside outward, through movement.

Starting in a seated posture, the class warms up with gentle spinal motions in all directions: arching, curling, spiraling, & tilting, utilizing an active breath to slowly deepen the action. Adding in the legs and then moving to the floor, the class gets in touch with every part of the body with a focus on expansion through strength in the core.

GYROKINESIS®, as the non-machine format of the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, is gentle enough for a non-mover, yet can work deep enough for a very active individual, providing an excellent form of cross-training for dancers and non-dancers.

With intervals of high and low impact exercises, students can expect to target each major muscle group of the body in each class session.
